Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone- time is flying by! Ben and I went to Clover, SC to spend Thanksgiving with my father-in-law, his girlfriend, and her kids and their significant others. It was so fun. He lives on a big piece of land and the very first thing we did when we got out of the car was ride the 4-wheeler. I'd never driven one before so Ben let me drive it and I admit it was a rough ride at first, but I got the hang of it. We also played with the llamas a lot, yes I said llamas. They have two llamas, Ginger and Tina, and two goats.. Jessie and Abby. They are surprisingly friendly however I did duck several times in fear of getting spit on by one of the llamas. Pictures will be posted later...

We left Clover and headed to Grandfather Mountain to spend the rest of the weekend with my family. It was in the 20's and I loved every minute of it. Anna was home from school and we had so much fun spending time with her.

I got so used to having Ben around that reality hit hard when he went back to work Monday. I definitely was enjoying the company! Luckily I'll have him back tomorrow morning for our ultrasound. I haven't had one in over ten weeks and we're so excited to see how big the baby has gotten!!

Will post pictures later.

So, I've picked up a new obsession with Justin Bieber. Maybe it's because I'm having a boy and justin is a 16 year old amazing singer. Everytime I watch him perform I feel like a proud mama and cry about it. Thanks pregnancy hormones!! Speaking of... these hormones that so kindly come along with pregnancy are horrendous. I feel every emotion to the extreme. When I'm sad I'm REALLY sad- balling. When I'm happy, which could be 5 seconds after the balling, I'm superrrr happy. It's unbelievable.

This past weekend was so fun. Friday I went out to dinner with some favs. We ate at Dressler's which was ahhhhh-mazing. We then stopped by a party which was fun consisdering I've been hibernating in my house the whole pregnancy. Saturday night Ben and I layed low. I made him watch "The Happiest Baby on the Block" to learn some soothing/calming skills for when the nugget arrives. Sort of a cheesy video but definitely helpful. I've been quizzing Ben on the 5 S's (other mamas you know what these are- for everyone else I won't go into it) ever since and he is ready to kill me.

Baby is kicking a LOT now. I can tell week by week how much stronger he is getting. Sometimes when he kicks it knocks the breath out of me. He is still hanging out pretty low (I think), possibly breech- I feel the kicks so low I'm nervous he is ready to shoot the coop!

I'm so ready for Thanksgiving and excited to put myself into a food coma. My car has been in the shop for two days so I've been housebound and thinking about all the delicious food I'm going to eat this week is pretty much the only thing I can do.

One last thing- I am a serious dancing with the stars fan and I'd just like to say that Bristol Palin has the personality of an ear and CAN'T dance. If she wins, I'm boycotting the show for good.

Finally some cold weather!

I've been dying for this day. I just opened the front door as Ben was leaving for work and it's COLD! I'm thrilled. This 60-70 degree weather has really been making me feel chapped, especially with the Holidays coming up.

Today, already, I really feel like a stay at home mom/wife. As Ben was leaving for work, I was popping a chuck roast in the crock pot to slow cook all day for dinner tonight- in my robe and slippers at that. I figure now is as good of a time as ever to really try to cook. Someone has to feed this little one when he arrives! And from what I understand, boys like to EAT. So the next two and a half months will be my trial and error time I've decided.

This week has been pretty uneventful except for getting my hair cut/colored yesterday. There's nothing like a fresh new do to spice up your life for a little while :)

One more week until the THIRD and FINAL trimester! So ready to meet this little man !

Ohhhh Baby!

Ben and I decided it would be a good idea to start a blog so the family members and friends that aren't in Charlotte with us can keep track of what we're up to! I will update as many details as possible about our life and pregnancy/ baby news. So here goes nothing..

I am 26 1/2 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden time is CRAWLING by. September flew by -we spent the last two weeks in Europe. We went to Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany. It was such an amazing trip! Definitely our last big trip before the baby arrives. October flew by also. I had the priveledge of being in one of my best friends wedding, Anna Bett, and it was absolutely beautiful. We spent a week in Debordieu celebrating and Ben and I couldn't be happier for AB and Andrew! After the wedding we moved from our house into a townhome (best move ever, I LOVE our new place!) and then all of a sudden it was November! Now time has completely slowed down...

Our new project is the baby's nursery. He has a big room and we're excited to decorate. We've picked out most of the furniture (crib etc.) and crib bedding and we can't wait to put everything together. As for the baby, he is getting bigger by the day and as a result so is my belly. I'm starting to get the slightest bit uncomfortable considering he is hanging out on my sciatic nerve, but having a great hubby to massage my back and help me with everything is wonderful. Baby is getting so strong and kicking all the time! Last week Ben felt him move for the first time- he pushed on my belly and the baby kicked him back. Pretty funny.

I've been asked a lot if I am having any cravings. My number one craving that seems to be pretty consistent is watermelon. I've got to have it at arms reach at all times. It's officially out of season but that certainly hasn't stopped me from eating it.

One last thing, just fyi, we are keeping his name a secret. Everyone will just have to wait until February to find out this little nuggets name.

Until next time...
