Tick tock, tick tock...

So my nights of sleeping are officially gone. I thought this was supposed to happen after the baby was born! But noooo. For the last month I've had pretty bad insomnia. Can't fall asleep and when I actually do I can only stay asleep for two hours at a time. I swear this is mother natures way of preparing me for when the baby does come home so I will be somewhat adjusted to the severe lack of sleep. As for Ben, he is having zero trouble sleeping but why would he? He doesn't have a watermelon (yum) strapped to his belly making it difficult to get comfortable. Nor does he have to pee (sorry for the tmi)every two hours. Nor does he have what feels like a toddler at this point kicking his ribs, stomach, bladder- you name it. In fact as I type this in my dark bedroom he is sleeping (and snoring) very soundly. I WILL sleep soundly again. Maybe not until my kids are in college, but it will happen.

We are so ready to meet our little man! I'm starting to realize that in a matter of days or weeks this baby has to come OUT of me, one way or another. Scary. On wednesday we have the hospital tour. I hope you can sign up for a deluxe suite with a whirlpool tub, massage therapists on hand, and lots of crushed ice. Keep dreaming, right? Speaking of dreaming, I think I'm about to attempt sleep for the second time tonight now....

Christmas and New Years

Christmas Eve I got hit with a cold/flu like bug and was in bed at 7:30p and missed all the festivities! I was so disappointed, but Ben was sweet and stayed with me. Christmas morning we went to my parents house, where we opened some great gifts and I got to lay under a blanket with my precious puppies and have my mom take care of me. From there we went to my mother-in-law's house and enjoyed visiting with her an opening some more fabulous gifts that we are so greatful for! After that we went straight home and I was asleep again by 8:30p :(   Thank you SARAH for passing this horrendous sickness to me, and Anna Bett at that. I still love you though.

The baby's crib/crib bedding and dresser/changing table were both supposed to be here by Christmas and still no sign of either of them... Ben and I are starting to get nervous as we are dying to set up his room which currently consists of strollers, swings, bouncy seats, stuffed animals, toys etc all over the floor which desperately need to be organized so we can be baby-ready.

As for New Years, this year was pretty lame. There's not much to do when you're 8 months pregnant, huge, and uncomfortable. We wish we could have been in the mountains with our friends but the doctor doesn't want me to travel anywhere anymore so here we sat....It was a nice and relaxing weekend though. We got to hang out with my sister, Anna, and her boyfriend, CJ, which was so fun. Sad they had to head back to school today!

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with awful contractions. I thought I was for sure in labor, I even woke up Ben and told him to get ready...FALSE alarm. They lasted for three hours and then just stopped out of the blue. Damn braxton hicks! So tricky to know what "real" labor is vs. "false". I keep hearing when you're in labor you just know. This obviously doesn't apply to me because last night I was 100% sure we were going to have a baby on January 2nd. Oh well, he still needs to cook just a little bit longer!!

Good thing the Bachelor and Jersey Shore premiere this week... this will hopefully pass the time until baby comes!

pictures...

cannot figure out how to post pictures, HELP!

Pregnancy INSOMNIA

well, FML. For the past week or so I haven't been able to sleep at night AT all. I toss and turn, can't get comfortable and the baby kicks constantly. Which is why I'm posting at 4am. Wide awake.
At least I know he's active!! However watching nick at nite is getting pretty old. There's only so much George Lopez I can take!

Tonight was the annual Timmerman Christmas party and was so much fun. I got to see lots of people that I haven't seen in a while and catch up. I had a nice long chat with Brooke Hall, who is an adorable mommy to a baby boy and she gave me tons of tips!! It made me so excited to meet this little one. She says boys are the best- can't want to hold this little man.

I am about to upload some pictures so we will see how this goes...

Merry Christmas!

Tis' the season

Not too much to report on our end- we're in the home stretch now and had a great ultrasound last week. Baby is weighing 4 pounds already! We got to see him in 3D and he is definitely a chunky monkey. At first we thought he look more like Ben (ultrasounds are amazing these days) but after Friday we're thinking he's looking more like me...Ben is a little bitter about it. I guess we will find out in February! Right now I'm measuring about 32 weeks, less than 8 weeks to go! I'm counting down the days. I'm happy to report he is head down instead of breech (he was breech at our last ultrasound) and I'm hoping he stays this way. Each ultrasound we have he has either been sucking his thumb or amazingly sucking his toes- flexible little guy.

As for us, the holiday parties have begun! We had so much fun at Katie and Logan's engagement party Saturday night and loved having dinner at Jono and Ashley Shaw's last night. This week we've got Supper Club and another Christmas party on Saturday. I can't believe next week is Christmas week!! Then New Years... then its January and only a month left till baby comes!!!

Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone- time is flying by! Ben and I went to Clover, SC to spend Thanksgiving with my father-in-law, his girlfriend, and her kids and their significant others. It was so fun. He lives on a big piece of land and the very first thing we did when we got out of the car was ride the 4-wheeler. I'd never driven one before so Ben let me drive it and I admit it was a rough ride at first, but I got the hang of it. We also played with the llamas a lot, yes I said llamas. They have two llamas, Ginger and Tina, and two goats.. Jessie and Abby. They are surprisingly friendly however I did duck several times in fear of getting spit on by one of the llamas. Pictures will be posted later...

We left Clover and headed to Grandfather Mountain to spend the rest of the weekend with my family. It was in the 20's and I loved every minute of it. Anna was home from school and we had so much fun spending time with her.

I got so used to having Ben around that reality hit hard when he went back to work Monday. I definitely was enjoying the company! Luckily I'll have him back tomorrow morning for our ultrasound. I haven't had one in over ten weeks and we're so excited to see how big the baby has gotten!!

Will post pictures later.

So, I've picked up a new obsession with Justin Bieber. Maybe it's because I'm having a boy and justin is a 16 year old amazing singer. Everytime I watch him perform I feel like a proud mama and cry about it. Thanks pregnancy hormones!! Speaking of... these hormones that so kindly come along with pregnancy are horrendous. I feel every emotion to the extreme. When I'm sad I'm REALLY sad- balling. When I'm happy, which could be 5 seconds after the balling, I'm superrrr happy. It's unbelievable.

This past weekend was so fun. Friday I went out to dinner with some favs. We ate at Dressler's which was ahhhhh-mazing. We then stopped by a party which was fun consisdering I've been hibernating in my house the whole pregnancy. Saturday night Ben and I layed low. I made him watch "The Happiest Baby on the Block" to learn some soothing/calming skills for when the nugget arrives. Sort of a cheesy video but definitely helpful. I've been quizzing Ben on the 5 S's (other mamas you know what these are- for everyone else I won't go into it) ever since and he is ready to kill me.

Baby is kicking a LOT now. I can tell week by week how much stronger he is getting. Sometimes when he kicks it knocks the breath out of me. He is still hanging out pretty low (I think), possibly breech- I feel the kicks so low I'm nervous he is ready to shoot the coop!

I'm so ready for Thanksgiving and excited to put myself into a food coma. My car has been in the shop for two days so I've been housebound and thinking about all the delicious food I'm going to eat this week is pretty much the only thing I can do.

One last thing- I am a serious dancing with the stars fan and I'd just like to say that Bristol Palin has the personality of an ear and CAN'T dance. If she wins, I'm boycotting the show for good.
